SGK's Meilin Wong Awarded One of 'Most Influential Global Marketing Leaders'
Meilin Wong, SGK's Business Development Director, was recently honoured with the 'Most Influential Global Marketing Leaders' award by CMO Asia at the World Marketing Congress 2018 conference in Mumbai.
According to CMO Asia, the list of those awarded is a result of a global research and the shortlist is then reviewed by a jury comprising of senior professionals from across the world. The criteria for this award includes marketing competencies, strategic perspective and future orientation, track record, integrity and ethics and a commitment to sustainability (Business, Social & Environmental).
Meilin's career spans over 20 years in integrated marketing, corporate communications and business development and has worked with global brands including American Express and Visa Inc.
Currently, Meilin works closely with SGK leaders across Asia to build new partnerships with global and local brands in the Southeast Asia region — one of the most robust and fast-growing regions in the world.
"Over 80% of our strategic design work developed in Asia, especially in Singapore, are for consumers in multiple markets. This is testament to the agency's deep knowledge of the region — many of the brand solutions we create are born out of this region, nuanced accordingly, for this region. They're not transplanted from other regions. This is fundamentally one of our key differentiators," said Meilin.
For example, the Anthem team in Singapore created a storied brand, Swee! for RedMart that is both pragmatic yet speaks to the values of Singaporeans. RedMart is part of the Alibaba-backed Lazada, a Southeast Asian e-commerce company.
